Acoustic guitar summit
Offers Kottke and Douglas
04/08/10

DERRY — Two of the very finest acoustic guitarists on the planet are getting together for a night of memorable, historic acoustic music on Saturday, April 17, 8 p.m., at Stockbridge Theatre on The Pinkerton Academy campus in Derry.

Leo Kottke and Jerry Douglas had an opportunity to perform on the same show a few years ago in Colorado. Since then, they have expressed a strong interest in doing so again.

Both will be performing solo, acoustic sets. This and a show in Lebanon the night before are their first and only appearances together east of the Mississippi.
Leo is no stranger to New England audiences. For over 45 years his superb 6 and 12 string acoustic guitaring can only be matched by his dry and witty stroytelling. (http://leokottke.com/)

Jerry's trademark Dobro is the most sought after sound in music today. Whether he is accompanying Alison Krauss or Elvis Costello or touring with his own band headlining and in support of artists such as Paul Simon, his melodic style, timing and accuracy are unmatched in music today.
